REPORTS AND PAPERS
Each year, Charles River Watershed Association creates a variety of reports and papers based on our research and project work. These documents range in length and technicality, but all provide solid, science-based information regarding the Charles River, its tributaries, and watershed.

Current fish communities were characterized and compared to the historical data to establish a target fish community: one that would exist in a healthy Charles River environment. - Low Flows and Habitat Assessment of the Upper Charles River Watershed, published October 2002.
- EPA Targeted Watershed Grant Final Report published 2007. A report on the six grant projects completed from 2003 to 2006, including flow trading, fisheries restoration, SmartStorm rainwater catchment, and others. Click here for more on this project.
Sustainable Watersheds paper
In March 2008, dozens of groups, including CRWA and MassAudubon, joined together on a shared vision for achieving sustainability in protection and management of the Commonwealth’s precious water resources and wetlands. Click here to read the paper (PDF).
White paper: Water Resource Conservation in Massachusetts
Published in March 2006, this paper discusses current water problems in water in Eastern Massachusetts, including rivers going dry and low water quality, and details causes and solutions relating to engineered impacts to the natural water cycle. Click here to read the paper (PDF).
