As the Communications Associate for CRWA, Carly translates CRWA's often technical and science-based work into accessible language and engaging visuals to make it appealing to a wide audience.
Carly received her B.S. in Natural Resources Conservation (NRC) from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2022, double majoring in NRC and journalism. While pursuing her degree Carly gained experience working as a Stewardship and Outreach Intern for the Westport Land Conservation Trust before working as a communications intern for the Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center (NE CASC). After graduation, she worked for two years as a federal contractor for the Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center facilitating their communications team.
From a small town on the south coast of Massachusetts, Carly’s interest in the environment began in elementary school while on a field trip to Horseneck Beach, when her local watershed alliance taught her about horseshoe crabs and other marine species. When she’s not on walks around the Charles River, Carly enjoys watching movies, skiing, and spending time at the beach.
