Come see stream restoration in action! Join us for a walking tour along Fuller Brook, a recently restored tributary of the Charles River in Wellesley, MA.
We will walk along the two-mile linear park that follows Fuller Brook and discuss interventions made to naturalize the stream channel, restore native plant communities, and reduce stormwater pollution. Then, we will discuss CRWA's ongoing work to restore other urban tributaries including the Muddy River, Cheesecake Brook, and Cantebury Brook.
Speakers include Brandon Schmitt, Natural Resources Commission Director for the Town of Wellesley, and Lisa Kumpf, River Science + Restoration Program Manager for Charles River Watershed Association.
GETTING THERE: Parking is available at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Wellesley Hills located at 309 Washington Street in Wellesley, MA. Please park to the left of the church. Public transportation is available via the MBTA Commuter Rail Framingham/Worcester line to Wellesley Hills.
MEETING LOCATION: We will meet at Phillips Park, which is located just behind 332 Washington Street. From the lot, cross Washington Street to Magnus Avenue. Walk one block to the start of Fuller Brook Path!
