Lisa Kumpf

Lisa oversees CRWA’s river restoration work, including dam removal, stream restoration, and invasive plant management. In her role, she provides technical and strategic expertise to ensure the construction and maintenance of restoration projects. She works with municipal, state, and federal partners and identifies funding sources to move projects forward. Lisa joined CRWA in 2018 as the Rita Barron Fellow and managed the River Science program for three years. She has a passion for clear, succinct data communication that supports climate adaptation efforts.

Lisa received her B.S. in Geology in 2013 from UMass Amherst and conducted her graduate research at Boston College, where she studied the evolution of the Yellow River Delta in China. Combining her passions for science, education, and social justice, she has previously worked with Girl Scouts, the YMCA, AmeriCorps, and Mass Audubon. Lisa brings these experiences to her work at CRWA where she strives to make progress toward climate change equity. Outside of CRWA, Lisa enjoys spending time with her wife and preschool-aged twins.
