50+ Organizations Sign Letter to Support State Parks

If the pandemic has shown taught us anything, it has shown us the vital importance of our state parks. Critically important for physical and mental well-being and climate resilience, our public open spaces are more important than ever. Yet, our parks remain in crisis due to a decade of underfunding and understaffing at the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).

This reality prompted Massachusetts Conservation Voters (MCV) to hold a state parks summit on October 14, 2022. Participants drafted the open letter below, signed by more than 50 park-supporting organizations across the Commonwealth, including Charles River Watershed Association.

Charles River

Charles River Watershed Association’s mission is to use science, advocacy, and the law to protect, restore, and enhance the Charles River and its watershed. We develop science-based strategies to increase resilience, protect public health, and promote environmental equity as we confront a changing climate.
