EPA Acts on PFAS

We applaud EPA for taking action to protect communities from toxic PFAS forever chemicals.

PFAS, per and poly-fluoroalkyl chemicals found in everything from plastic packaging to cosmetics to non-stick pans, remain in the environment indefinitley, accumulating in lakes, ponds, soils, air, and even drinking water. EPA’s announcement proposes the first legally enforceable limits on PFAS compounds in drinking water, a first step to protect communities from exposure.

Additionally, the Department of Public Health issued new advisories for eating fish from numerous lakes and ponds in our watershed. See the full list of advisories. We look forward to working with communities on this issue!
