Municipal Shoutout: Needham Embraces Dedicated Stormwater Funding

Needham has adopted a stormwater utility fee to help address stormwater pollution flowing into the Charles. This shift in funding, previously covered by sewer charges, will also allow the Town to respond to more intense rainstorms and frequent flooding due to climate change. Following Boston’s lead with a stormwater charge, Needham ensures sustainable funding for stormwater infrastructure. Investing in stormwater management is crucial for a cleaner Charles River and will reduce localized flooding. Visit here for more details >
