Natick Select Board Votes for Dam Removal & River Restoration!

A RIVER RESTORED Rendering shows what dam removal and river restoration could look like in Natick. (Town of Natick)

We are so pleased to report that Natick Select Board voted 4-1 in favor of dam removal and restoration of a free-flowing Charles River for future generations.

After years of thoughtful deliberation and study from the Charles River Dam Advisory Committee, we are grateful that the Select Board supports the committee’s decision.

Dam removal is a significant opportunity for Natick to restore the health of the Charles River, revive migratory fish populations, and build climate resilience.

We are thankful for our allies from Eco Natick, Mass Audubon, Massachusetts Rivers Alliance, Natick Religious Leaders Association, Sierra Club Massachusetts Chapter, and Trout Unlimited Greater Boston Chapter.

Thank you for your support of a free-flowing Charles River!
