New Resilient Mass Plan Charts Path to Climate Resilient Future! (STATEMENT)
We applaud the Healey-Driscoll Administration for developing the 2023 Resilient Mass plan to chart the course to a more climate-resilient Commonwealth!
The Resilient Mass plan prioritizes science-based, informed decision-making and restoring healthy ecosystems, which are essential elements for adapting to climate change to protect the over one million people who call the Charles River watershed home. The Plan also demonstrates a clear commitment from the Healey-Driscoll Administration to equitably invest in climate resilience and work collaboratively with communities to address pressing issues and past disproportionate provision of burdens and benefits.
The climate crisis is upon us––urgent action is necessary if we want Massachusetts to continue to be a great place to live, work, study, and visit. We greatly appreciate the administration’s push for concrete actions to implement this vision.
Highlights of the plan include:
Creation of the new Office of Climate Science
Focus on inland flooding risks and nature-based solutions
Inclusion of the Action Tracker tool to chart progress
