Before you head out on the water, check out our water quality alerts to be sure the Charles River is safe.

Just last weekend, heavy rain caused several Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs), sending untreated sewage straight into the Charles River. Yuck!

The Flagging Program will keep you up to date on all hazards to public health––check the website and sign up for Water Quality Alerts.
