Water Chestnut Success!
Thanks to the hard work of over one hundred dedicated volunteers, we removed a whopping 7000 pounds (and counting) of invasive water chestnuts from the Lakes District of the Charles River! That’s twenty-five cubic yards.
This monumental impact is only possible thanks to ~500 volunteer hours from our community volunteers, corporate sponsors, our fearless Fieldwork Coordinator Andrew Salant, and star water chestnut leaders Larry Smith, Nathan Phillips, Chuck and Dianne Cossaboom, and Damon Carter who went above and beyond this season. Thank you to volunteers from Ten Bridge Communications, HGA Architects, Sappi America, Newton Environmental Science Program, and Northeastern Natural Resources Law for your commitment to an invasive-free Charles!
