Five Priority Bills Voted Out Favorably

Last year, our Advocacy team was in the State House advocating for six priority bills to improve watershed health and equitable access.

We're excited to announce that five priority bills were voted out of their respective committees and are now before the House/Senate Ways and Means committees. While they aren’t laws yet, this is a huge milestone!

  • Drought Bill (An Act relative to maintaining adequate water supplies through effective drought management, H.861/S.475)

  • SGARs Bill (An Act Relative to Pesticides, H.825/S.487)

  • Flood Risk Protection Program Bills (An Act to create a commission to determine the feasibility of voluntary acquisition of flood risk properties and structures, H.876/S.557 & An Act establishing a Massachusetts Flood Risk Protection Program, S.559)

  • Invasives Bill (An Act responding to the threat of invasive species, H.890/S.508)

  • MVP+ Bill (An Act to incentivize the adoption of local climate resilience policies, S.599)

Thank you, Senator Rebecca Rausch and Representative Dan Cahill, Chairs of the Joint Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, for reporting out 4 of 5 CRWA priority bills before the Environment Committee. Thank you, Representative James Murphy and Senator Paul Feeney, Chairs of the Joint Committee on Financial Services, for favorably reporting out the MVP+ Bill.
