Alewife Wetland Site Walk

  • Amphitheater at Alewife Brook Pathway Cambridge, MA 02140 United States (map)
This event has passed.

Join us for a tour of the Alewife Stormwater Wetland, a 3.4-acre constructed wetland that treats stormwater from 420 acres in Cambridge. Hear about the history of the project, its partners, funding, and what it takes to maintain this massive nature-based-solution. Taking in and cleaning a huge amount of water, this wetland can serve as an example for managing stormwater from large areas, such as the Muddy River watershed in Brookline and Boston. Our guest speaker is Duke Bitsko, a landscape architect involved in the project design. Free boxed lunches will be provided to all tour participants.
