Community Day Water Chestnut Removal

  • Red Wing Bay Fisher St Needham, MA, 02492 United States (map)

HELP CLEAR THE CHARLES!

Join us on Saturday, July 13th to help clear the Charles of invasive Water Chestnut’s and restore our river!

The fast-growing, aquatic invasives spread rapidly across the river, reducing biodiversity, harming water quality, and impeding recreation. But with your help, we can remove water chestnuts & restore the river ecosystem.

After years of successful efforts from volunteers like you, Water Chestnut’s in the lakes district have been effectively eradicated! Because of this success we are now focusing on the Red Wing Bay area of Needham, where Water Chestnuts were first identified as a problem last summer.

You don’t want to miss out! This fun, family friendly event is a great way to explore our watershed, meet new friends, and make a difference for our river.

This event has reached capacity and is no longer accepting registrations.
