Stream Restoration in Action: Fuller Brook Tour

Come see stream restoration in action! Continuing last year’s great tour, join us for a walking tour along Fuller Brook, a recently restored tributary of the Charles River in Wellesley, MA.

We will walk along the two-mile linear park that follows Fuller Brook and discuss interventions to naturalize the stream channel, restore native plant communities, and reduce stormwater pollution. We will discuss the success of this completed restoration project, including the implementation of interventions to naturalize the stream channel, restore native plant communities, and reduce stormwater pollution.

Speakers include Brandon Schmitt, Natural Resources Commission Director for the Town of Wellesley, and Lisa Kumpf, Senior Restoration Program Manager for Charles River Watershed Association.

GETTING THERE: Parking is available at the Wellesley High School Parking lot, located at 50 Rice Street in Wellesley, MA. Please park toward the North side of the parking lot. Public transportation is available via the MBTA Commuter Rail Framingham/Worcester line to Wellesley Hills.

MEETING LOCATION: We will meet at the Wellesley High School Parking Lot, one block to the start of Fuller Brook Path!

ACCESSIBILITY: The path includes a mix of paved and unpaved sections. Be prepared to walk on some uneven terrain.
