Stormwater pollution is the greatest threat to a clean Charles River.

Under the Massachusetts Municipal Stormwater (MS4) permit, cities and towns in our watershed must reduce phosphorus discharges into the Charles River over the next twenty years based on CRWA's studies for a healthier river. CRWA works with cities and towns to reduce phosphorus use.
