Passing tropical storm Debby brings reminders of storm preparedness - Bay State Banner

As tropical storm Debby passes Boston largely undisturbed, the Bay State Banner encourages residents to take the opportunity to consider storm preparedness measures for the next time a big storm does come to the Boston area. Especially considering that big storms, due to climate change, are expected to happen more frequently than ever.

Flooding is likely to get worse. To help prepare, check out our Charles River Flood Model, a watershed-scale simulation developed with twenty cities & towns to show how increased precipitation and inland flooding will affect our communities and test out mitigation solutions.

Charles River

Charles River Watershed Association’s mission is to use science, advocacy, and the law to protect, restore, and enhance the Charles River and its watershed. We develop science-based strategies to increase resilience, protect public health, and promote environmental equity as we confront a changing climate.
